The girls here have three spaces of their own, a cubby for their shoes, a cubby for their clothes, and a bed. So if they have any personal items of their own they keep them under their pillows or in a shoe box at the foot of their beds. I wanted to give them something for Christmas that they could put their personal items in and hang at the end of their beds. Who better to contact than my professional sewing Aunts? Within a week of hearing the idea, my Aunt Mary, Margie, and Barbara were on top of the project. They coordinated a girls’ night with aunts and cousins to get together and make a bag for each of the girls and their things. They also went the extra mile to embroider every girls name onto her bag making it even more personal for the girls. Thank you to Aunt Mary, Lauren, Jessica, Aunt Margie, Aunt Barbara, Aunt Kathy, Elizabeth, Mandy, Elizabeth, and Olivia for your time and hard work to make this holiday special. Not only did they make these bags for the girls, but a special thanks to Aunt Barbara, Melissa, Aunt Patsy, Erika, Aunt Mary, and Jessica, for sending so many wonderful gifts to fill the bags for the girls. Although the package was about two months late, we celebrated Christmas for the second time and it just so happened to fall on the feast of St. Don Bosco (the founder of the Salesians) which made it that much more special of a day. Regardless of when it arrived, the girls were extremely grateful for the gifts they were given and use them all regularly. I am beyond grateful for my family and how much they want to help. They have been a true blessing and just seeing them all together making these bags for the girls just made me so happy. Thank you to my wonderful family once again for all of your love and support. You helped make this Christmas even more special for these girls and myself as well!
